This is one "Swinging" Card!
No really it is! The butterfly is on a pendulum and when you shake the card the butterfly swings on the front of the card. It is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time! Here are a few quick instructions.

Butterfly Card & Envelope

Close up of Card

First mount a piece of card stock or patterned paper to the front of a card base. In this case I used a sheet of patterned paper from the Life Delights paper pack from Close to my Heart. I then used the Tonertex glue pen to outline the flourishes and covered them in Prisma Glitter. I then stamped the large butterfly from the March Stamp of the Month Acrylix set in Chocolate and cut it out. This step could easily be done with a cardstock sticker and put powder on the back of the sticker so that it wouldn't be sticky. I then used the tonertex glue pen again and outlined all the chocolate parts and put on glitter.

See how the butterfly moves!

This is how it works!

First find the location that you want the "swinging" item to be. Then very carefully make a small cutout through the front of the card. You could use a long reach punch or just very carefully use your scissors. You will be placing 3-dimisional adhesive through the hole, so you need the hole to be about that size. In my case I was using little round "popdots" about 1/2" in diameter.

(I am going to describe my card because it's easier that way) Lay the butterfly face down and place a pop dot on the back. Then place another popdot right on top of the first one. You now have two popdots thickness on the back of your butterfly. right? :-)

Now to make the pendulum part. Cut a piece of cardstock about 1 inch wide and 4 inch's long. Fold in half. Place a penny in the fold at the bottom. Use a glue dot to make it stay.

Now place the butterfly onto the front of the card with the popdots sticking through the hole. Place the top of the pendulum to the glue dots. The weight of the penny will make the butterfly swing. Isn't it cool!!!!

This is the gift bag that went with the card. All made from cardstock.
