Mini-Albums

I love to make Mini-Albums, they are quick and I can "complete" them and it's something small that can lay in a basket or sit on the fireplace mantle and the kids can take them down and touch them and play with them. After I complete one I feel like I have accomplished something. With a 12x12 Family Album it feels like it goes on and on and on with no end in site and I will never get caught up! Silly I know, but everyone thinks differently about things and so mini-albums are one of my favorite things!

This album was created after our youngest, Addie fell off the top of our staircase. She fell through the railing and landed on the concrete basement floor. Long story short, she fractured her skull from the top of her nose across her forehead. She is fine now and has had no problems with it since then, it healed just fine. A few months later I created this album to put pictures of Addie in her princess dress, the princess shoes that caused the fall and a letter to Addie about what happened. It was a good healing process. The title "Take Flight on the Wings of a Miracle" is in reference to Life-flight that took her to Childrens Mercy Hospital and also to the fact that it was a miracle that she is ok.

I think scrapbooks should have the good, bad and sometimes the terrible. When you look back on things that have happened in your life, not all of it is pretty flowers and glossy stickers that paint a happy go lucky life. There is a mixture of good, bad, ugly, terrible, scary and many other things! It's ok to scrapbook those feelings. I felt much better after I wrote about my feelings from that day. If you don't like it, don't put it in the book or make a mini-album like I did and put it away. You don't have to let everyone see every single layout and mini-album you create, this could be just for you in a private journal or something. So go ahead, try it! :-)

Mini-Album from Convention:

This is a kit that I purchased at CKC last October. I fell in love with the colors and textures in this book. It was so rich and elegant looking! The papers and ribbons are gorgeous in person. I put it together pretty much like the instructions said with only a few "personal" touches.
Enjoy!

Nine little Snowmen all dressed their best.

These are the gourd snowmen that Addie's Daisy Troop made. Very cute I thought!

A recent project and Little Cheerleaders night.

I was commissioned to complete a "loving advice" book for a bride from her aunt. It was a very unique project. I had never taken on a project like this before. We printed all the blank sheets for the bridal shower, then the hostess returned them to me filled out and I stamped them, cut them out, inked um' up and bound them together. It took a long time as all the purple base pages are card stock that was hand stamped by me. There was also a lot of liquid glass and flowers. It turned out really cool though and the bride will always have this little advice book from her closest friends and family.

Little Cheerleaders at the basketball game Friday night. Addie says she is going to be a ballerina and a cheerleader when she grows up. How sweet is that?!

Some days are just like that.........

This is Leupold. He belongs to good friends of mine, Connie and Ash. He is such a beautiful Saint Bernard. Megan got to go to their farm this last weekend and bathe him! It was an experience she will never forget! I will be posting more pics later, it's just this one in particular spoke to me, so I posted it first. :-)

Writing thank you notes should always be this fun! I not only did something on my "to-do list" but I got to "play" at the same time! How many people can say that??!

I have two lists I am working off of. The first is the "need" to do...not very fun. The second list is the "want" to do...which is much more fun. I am having much difficulty figuring out which items fall into which category. That's why this card was so much fun, it was in both categories! :-)
